Description:
The Kalyana Mitta movement supported school children in Webadagamma Village who were displaced by the Ditwah Sully cyclone and flooding. The floods damaged or washed away many families’ belongings, and several children were left without proper shoes making it difficult (and sometimes unsafe) for them to return to school.
In response to a request from the affected families, we distributed shoes and drinking water so the children could get back to class with greater comfort, safety, and dignity. This project reflects our commitment to being a “good friend to humanity” by helping communities in Sri Lanka with practical support that reduces day-to-day hardship and helps children continue their education.
